Sheriff’s Police Seek Public’s Help to Identify Male Offenders in Connection with Shooting, Attempted Catalytic Converter Theft

COOK COUNTY, IL – Cook County Sheriff’s Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two male offenders who shot at a victim in unincorporated Northfield Township after he saw them attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a parked vehicle.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, Cook County Sheriff’s Police responded to a call of shots fired at an apartment complex near the 3600 block of Salem Walk.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, who was uninjured, saw two male suspects near a vehicle in the parking lot apparently attempting to steal the vehicle’s catalytic converter. When the victim made eye contact with one of the male offenders, the offender produced a firearm and fired repeatedly toward the victim before both offenders fled the scene. No one was injured in the incident.
