The Office of Professional Review

The Office of Professional Review (OPR) ensures the accountability of Sheriff’s Office employees for conduct occurring both on and off-duty.  OPR Investigators conduct thorough, fair, and timely criminal and administrative investigations when well-founded complaints of employee misconduct are received.

OPR makes sure that civilian and sworn Sheriff’s Office employees are compliant with all Cook County Sheriff’s Office policies, procedures, the Uniform Peace Officers’ Disciplinary Act, the Illinois Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity Today Act and all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Complaints of unlawful political discrimination should be made to the Compliance Officer Compliance Officer (ccso.complianceofficer@ccsheriff.org); however, you may also report the conduct to the Office of Professional Review.
